Glazing & Firing Process
Why does it take 2-3 weeks to collect my pottery?
The glazing and firing process takes time:
-
Items need to fully dry before glazing.
-
A clear glaze is applied and dried for 24 hours.
-
We only fire full kilns to be energy efficient.
-
The kiln firing takes 8 hours, reaching 1000°C.
-
The kiln then cools down to room temperature, which varies depending on the weather.
-
Once cooled, we unload, inspect, and wrap your items for collection.
-
The process takes 2-3 weeks, after which your items will be ready for collection.
Can you post my pottery to me?
Yes! We offer a postage service for £8.
